Units with balcony. Lots of supplies in the room: WiFi and a TV set. Magnificent location of the hotel next to Nijo castle. Also - very close to bus stops, trains, or walking, and a big grocery store.

Ian
The location very close to a bus station was magnificent and comfortable, most places in Kyoto where within reach. You could walk to a supermarket and shops.
-
Barry
Exceptionally nice and magnificent spot near the most famous fire ramen shop as well as the Golden Temple, which is a must see. Great-sized and modest units with contemporary though simple decor and excellent staff.

the location was excellent and fantastic, to nijo castle with easy access to a supermarket and shops. we could drink something at nihonshu bar pokiya, located 1 km away. the breakfast was sensational with a lot of amazing coffee, fresh bread, and pastries.

So we also would book here again, but we didn't have time. The venue is amazing, it offers excellent breakfast and has excellent location really close to the Nijo castle and bus stops, and public transit, sightseeing, restaurants. We appreciated cooperative and best personnel that ensures guests have a really really nice stay...

Everything was awesome from the very beginning.
Thoroughly enjoyed Kyoto, the hotel was absolutely great to the tourist spots you want nearby the guest house. The staff was really kind and polite, took good care of everyone. I got reasonably spacious room with twin beds. The breakfast food was amazing and reasonably-priced.

Such great stay, as always. Interesting hotel with modest rooms and nice staff. Excellent and good breakfast with salty breads, tea available 24h - well worth the money.

The location is comfy, around 10-15 minutes walk from a cyprus-wood castle. And it's set in a cozy area close to well connected bus stop and the Golden Temple and Kyoto castle and the old Imperial Palace.

The location of the guest house was ideal, being just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the nearest subway station and close to two bus stops. This made it incredibly convenient to explore the city and visit various tourist attractions. having a big grocery store at the bus stop was a nice bonus, as we could easily pick up snacks or supplies. The staff were also very helpful and friendly, always willing to provide information about the area and offer guidance on how to use the local transport.
The lack of soundproofing in the rooms, as mentioned in one of the reviews. This meant that we could sometimes hear noise from other guests, which was a bit frustrating for light sleepers like us.

Climate control, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a refrigerator in the room, great location❤

I recently stayed at a guest house in Kyoto and had a fantastic experience. The staff at Uraraka Guest House were incredibly helpful, providing us with detailed instructions on how to get to the hotel and even including a message in Japanese for a taxi driver if needed. They allowed us to check in early, which was a great convenience. The room was spacious, especially considering Japanese standards, and the building had an elevator. All the staff were fluent in English and very accommodating. They provided a complimentary breakfast with a variety of breads, along with coffee and tea. The hotel also had a water dispenser with cold, warm, and room temperature water. Additionally, there were pay-per-use washing machines and dryers available on the ground floor. They also sold the Kyoto 1-day Bus Pass, which was very convenient for exploring the city. I highly recommend Uraraka Guest House for your stay in Kyoto.
Nothing, all excellent! 😊

The room itself was extremely spacious and with twin beds and the tub, for example. We were in a marvellous and comfortable location at a medium distance from a cyprus-wood castle.
